Paige started back to full time school the end of August. We usually do a little back to school photo shoot but for some reason we kept on putting it off. It was a beautiful day yesterday and we had some time so I took some pictures of our gorgeous 4th grader! She loves school and is ready to be back full time. She will have to wear a mask everyday though they can take them off when they are outside for recess which will be a nice little break. She is ready to learn and be with friends again.
Here is all about Paige as a 4th grader:
Favorite Color: Teal, Coral, Lavender, Hot Pink, Lime Green, Lemon Yellow, Sea Green, and Light Orange (LOTS)
Favorite Food: Fettuccine Alfredo
Favorite Treat: Ice Cream Sundaes with Hot Fudge
Favorite Thing We Did This Summer: Go to Idaho and Seeing Baby Kittens
One Thing I Love: Blankies
What I Want To Be When I Grow Up: Teacher and Artist
My favorite picture of the bunch!
And of course Baylor wanted in on some of the photo taking action. I have two cute girls!
The first day of school went well. Nate gave her a priesthood blessing the night before and I must say it is one of the sweetest things to witness is your husband giving a blessing to your child. In the morning there were a little bit of tears because of nerves but she got through them and Nate left all sorts of encouraging notes for her to start off her day right. All ready to go!
The first couple of weeks were definitely a transition for all of us. Paige had an incident at school where she cried because she was so tired (adjusting to going back to school after all this time off because of Covid is no joke!) and for almost 2 weeks after that it was a struggle every morning. Trying to figure out exactly what was wrong was so hard since she doesn't open up very much. We talked about a lot of things during this time- figuring out a schedule to maximize her amount of sleep, limiting reading time (she could read for hours and her brain needed a break), having rewards for not crying in the mornings, and things she could do at school when she was feeling tired (asking to go to the bathroom for a little breather, saying a prayer in her head, etc.) It was pretty hard as a parent and not knowing what to do and hard to watch since she normally loves school but we got through it and she loves it. She loves learning and excelling, she loves to read, she loves library time and P.E., she loves her teacher and the reward system that she has in place, and most of all she loves being with her friends.
Someone else was also tired with the new adjustment of getting up on time to get out the door to get Paige to school on the time. Baylor hasn't taken a nap in a LONG time but this schedule change she has fallen asleep usually next to me when I am reading my scriptures or working on something and one time she even fell asleep in the shopping cart when I was going grocery shopping.
Happy school year Paige! I can't believe you are now in the upper levels of elementary school. You will do great things this year and I know that you will be a great example. I love you SO much!
