Thomasson Family Farm

We continued our yearly tradition of going to Thomasson Family Farm in October. Last Friday, there was no school and it was a beautiful day so we invited Addison to join us and as soon as Nate got home from work we went to the farm. It was super busy but the girls had a lot of fun together and it such a nice day to be out and about.
First stop was the corn box- one of my favorite spots though this year it was a little too crowded with crazy kids for my liking but Paige and Addison had fun going down the slide, jumping in, and covering each other with corn. Once we got out though they had corn in all sorts of places. :)
Baylor and I sat in the corner and just observed. She didn't want off my lap but liked feeling the corn and wiggling her feet in it.
Then we went to the hay maze for a little bit for some more running around and jumping off the hay bails.
A quick stop to pet some of the animals.
Then to the kid area for lots of different things for these two cute girls to do and play on.
They both tried the zip line for the first time and they really liked it and I think it became their favorite part.
Baylor enjoyed most of the time in someone's arms just watching and observing. I don't think she liked that many people being around her that she didn't know and towards the end of our day there she started to get tired and right before lunch got her first ever bee sting. She was not happy at all about it- poor girl. She was much happy once we got home and she got a good nap.
 The tractor ride
We ended our day walking around the pumpkin patch and getting a hay ride on the big wagon.
It was a fun day and then we went back to our house and these two girls played for a couple more hours. When they are together they play so well together and keep each other busy and have fun the entire time they are together. I am grateful that Paige has such an awesome best friend!

Fall

I have loved all the beautiful fall colors that I see everywhere! The leaves changing is so pretty and I have loved going on walks to the park with all the trees there. One nice evening we all decided to go over and get some pictures of the cutest girls with the beautiful fall colors. It was pretty bright out and so some of the pictures were hard to get the lighting right but it was a nice day to be outside and I love being with these two girls. They bring me so much joy and happiness.
Sisters- they sure love each other and I love watching them interact.
We were taking some pictures and this one duck decided to come and join us. We had some bread so we kept it close to Baylor who loved looking at it and pointing to it.
Paige- you are becoming such a beautiful young lady! I can't believe how big you are and you are growing up way too fast. Keep being the sweet girl that you are.
Oh how I love them! Just looking at these pictures makes my heart burst.
We ended our walk and photo session with feeding the rest of the bread to this group of ducks that followed Paige around until they were sure the bread was gone.
 Happy Fall!

11 Months

Happy 11 months! How is she already almost 1? Time is going by so fast and I love this stage with Baylor. She is the sweetest little baby who is just the cutest and is so happy.
Here's what Baylor is up to at 11 months:

  • She is crawling everywhere! She prefers her monkey crawl on harder floors and if she wants to get somewhere really fast and will do a normal crawl on the carpet. She does her monkey crawl if she has something in one hand so she can still move around while carrying it. She loves it when you chase her and she crawls away really fast but then stops to look to see if you are still coming after her.
  • She loves dolls and stuffed animals and will squeeze them so tight because she loves them so much.
  • I can now get a tiny ponytail in her hair and I love and can't want until I get get two little antennas in it.
  • She LOVES Paige and is constantly looking for her when she hears Paige's voice and always wants to see where she is and do what she is doing.
  • She loves showers with Dad.
  • She is very slowly but surely becoming slightly less picky with her baby food. She can't really eat food other than baby food unless it is just one or two bites because she went up choking on it or spitting it out.
  • She loves to open up cupboards and pull what she can out, take books off the bookshelf, push the power button on the computer, crawl under the tables and over people's legs. She loves to go outside and crawls to the door as fast as she can when she sees it open in hopes that she can make it out there. She also will come crawling if the fridge or dishwasher is open and likes to explore both of them. She likes to help me unload the silverware from the dishwasher.
  • She takes two naps and still doesn't sleep through the night. A four hour stretch from her is a good night.
  • She loves to "wrestle" with Dad and loves all his silliness.
  • When she is hungry or tired she always wants Mom.
  • She is quite the talker. She loves to jabber and her favorite words are mama and she now makes sounds and imitates you when you say uh-oh, meow, and ruff.
  • She is pretty ticklish and has the cutest laugh.
  • She is pretty shy but loves to wave to random people. Whenever she sees someone she likes to wave to them but if they come close and try to touch her then she hides into me or Nate.
  • She LOVES her blanket. We often play the game with her where I take her blanket and snuggle with it and then she comes crawling with a big smile to come and get her blanket from you. She loves to snuggle her face into it and just hugs it so tight that she shakes. You can tell when she is getting tired because she will snuggle with her blanket more and lay her head on it.
I can't believe that my next post will be her 1st birthday! We love you so much Baylor and you fit perfectly into our family.
She looks like Nate quite a bit in this picture when he was a baby. The definitely have the same eyes.
I could seriously kiss those cheeks all day long!

September Happenings

I haven't blogged much this past month so I got the random pictures from my phone to have a what's happened blog. Paige has been busy with school, Nate with work, and Baylor and I love being home and enjoying the little things.

A few days and weekends with September we all were captivated  by the trees getting cut down at the next door neighbors. One Saturday we spent pretty much the entire day watching them work. :)
We have had lots of produce from our salsa gardens. We have so many tomatoes that I have given away quite a few. It is nice though whenever I need an onion or tomato that I can just go out to the garden and pick one. I have had some giant zucchini that have become delicious desserts and I even shredded one all up and froze them for later use.
On September 15th, we were able to go to Safeco Field and listen to the prophet speak. First we got to listen to President Eyring (one of the apostles and member of the first presidency), then Wendy Nelson (the prophet's wife), and then President Nelson. President Eyring talked about the importance of a prophet and praying and asking about what he says is to be true and having a testimony of the prophet and the things he teaches us. Sister Nelson talked about how her husband received revelation for the church and how it is important to receive revelation for ourselves. She started her talk saying that they had never had a devotional at a ball park before and for some reason she had the song "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" stuck in her head and had a craving for a hot dog. :) President Nelson talked about life lessons that he has learned in his 95 years. His talk was really good and these are some of the things he mentioned: The importance of holding onto the iron rod of the gospel of Jesus Christ; that the Book of Mormon is the word of God- he made a prophetic promise that if we read the Book of Mormon every day that we will be immunized against the evils of the day and draw closer to the Lord; another life lesson is that we should focus more on eternal life instead of the honors of men- there are few things in the world that have eternal significance so we need to focus on our covenants and those things that are eternal; he also taught that the Lord often uses the unlikely to accomplish the impossible- the Lord likes effort and blesses our best efforts; and the last thing he taught was the importance of service and that we are happiest when we are thinking of someone other than ourselves.
Paige loves school even though it was a bit of a rough start. She has a good group of friends that she always plays with and her reading is amazing for her age. She loves to play school with us when she gets home and this shows me what she is learning at school since often she incorporates things into the things she does with us. She is still my constant helper who loves to help with Baylor, in the garden, and in the house if she is in the mood. :) She loves to do crafts and arts and constantly writes notes or random things on paper. This past week we got to go and feed some baby kittens for someone in our ward and Paige loved it and so did I.
Baylor's hair finally is long enough that I can put a little ponytail in it and I love it! The pictures on the left is her very first one and the picture of the right is the first time wearing a bow. She looks SO cute with it!
Baylor is starting to get into whatever she can. She is getting really good at crawling and she still does her monkey crawl and is pretty fast at it. It makes me laugh and is so cute to watch. Whenever you open the door to outside or the fridge she comes crawling as fast as she can. She loves to play in the fridge, under the tables, opens and shuts all the cupboard doors in the kitchen, and the cutest place she likes to go is under the wooden high chair.
Finding all sorts of treasures in Paige's art area. She finds all sorts of things of the floor. Occasionally she will put it in her mouth but a lot of the time she will hand it to me. It reminds me to sweep the floors often. :)
Whenever is it a nice day for the past few weeks, Baylor and I have gone over and walked at the park. I love it with all the beautiful fall colors and Baylor loves it too with her cute little feet resting on the stroller.
I have been wanting some fall flowers on the porch and so this past week I went to Walmart and I love how it turned out and I loved the flowers. Happy Fall!
