Birthday Girl

We celebrated Paige's 4th birthday on Tuesday. She is an absolute delight and I can't believe she is already 4. She is growing up way too fast. She is a very sweet girl along with being very silly too. She loves to tease you and to make you laugh. She is a great helper and loves to help me around the house. She loves barbies, dolls, stuffed animals, little people, and anything crafty (writing letters, coloring, cutting, taping, etc.) Happy birthday sweet girl! I love you with all my heart!

Robert, Christy, Matt, and Lylia had been visiting for a week and Paige loved every minute following Lylia around. They left to go back home the morning of Paige's birthday. Lylia gave Paige the little white bear and she loved it.
I did a lot of preparations during the day including making the barbie cake that she requested. The inside of it turned out perfect and just how I wanted. The outside frosting of it though was a different story. The frosting was not working at all and the bags I was using to try and pipe the frosting on kept breaking. I wanted to throw the cake out the window. It was super frustrating because I imagined it so much better in my head but I just got it done and Paige had a great party.
Her request for dinner was spaghetti, bread sticks, jigglers, and root beer and then it was cake and presents time.
This was the first year that she blew the candles out on her cake on her own.
For about a month we have asked Paige what she wanted for her birthday and her response has always been a Barbie dream pool. We did get it for her but Nate wanted to have a little fun with it. Nate put this pool together for her and this was the first present that was brought out. Her face in the picture is priceless. She was not impressed but really sweet about it.
Then the real deal came out and she was all smiles.
She loved opening all her presents and got so much great stuff. She is very loved!
The inside of the cake was very pretty.
With her dream pool- by the end of the night the pool was full of barbies.
Happy Birthday little girl!

A Day at the Zoo

Yesterday we went to the Point Defiance Zoo in Tacoma with Margaret, Christy, Robert, Matt, and Lylia. It was so much fun. Paige loved it and I always love going to the zoo.

Our first stop was the aquarium
 The shark tank
 The shark gliding past us
Then we got there at the right time to be able to pet the little sting ray and sharks. It was pretty amazing and something I may never get to do again. The sting ray were slimy and smooth and the sharks felt like lizards. Paige would not do it but she had fun watching me.
The cute seahorses- we all thought the seahorses were pregnant because they had big bellies but then we read the sign and they were potbelly seahorses.
Then we walked around the rest of the zoo.
We loved watching the walrus and the sea lions and otters. The walrus and sea lions would do the same patterns and the walrus would come right up to the glass. Lylia was having a conversation with the otter and he would squeak back to her.
The last stop was the goat/petting area. I got some goat feed and let Paige feed the goats. I wasn't sure if she would do it but Lylia did it first and then Paige immediately did it afterwards and thought it was pretty cool.
Margaret and Christy admiring their long legs.
We went to the Washington History Museum and the Museum of Glass which are both in Tacoma and also free yesterday. It was fun to walk around and see everything.

Cute Girls

Paige is the cutest little model and Nate loves it when she is in the mood to take pictures. She is such a joy in our lives and we are the luckiest parents to have her!
We love all the beautiful flowers that are popping up everywhere and Paige especially loves daffodils.
Then yesterday we got to watch Eliza for a few hours. We always love to watch her and have some baby time. Paige loves to be a helper and loves to hold her cute little cousin.
