Halloween Fun

We have enjoyed some Halloween fun this past week.

First we went up to a neighborhood where there is a Halloween House. This person has all these lights to music and all these scary and fun Halloween decorations. By the house they had all these buttons you could push where things would light up or open. I only jumped a few times. I thought they would scare McCall but she was just staring at all the lights and didn't even flinch. This house also does a Christmas house and the Christmas one is more of my type and I like it more since I'm not a fan of scary things but it was fun to go to and see.
We carved pumpkins on Monday for family home evening. Paige did hers all by herself and did a Harry Potter inspired one. Baylor wanted a kitty unicorn and so Nate helped that come to life. I did McCall's. I carved "lil girl" in it and my idea was cutting out leg holes so that she could sit in it but the pumpkins we had weren't big enough at the top. She probably would have hated it but I thought it would be so cute.
We had our ward trunk or treat on Friday evening and it is always a fun ward event and the kids love it. We had a cute and tiny skeleton, a ballerina unicorn, and Hermonie. Dressing kids up for Halloween is always so much fun. I do pretty simple costumes and use what I have around the house but it's always fun to see their excitement for it and of course we all enjoy the candy.
I love these pictures of Paige- she really had fun with it and got into character. And can I say she has the most amazing hair!!! Currently she is reading the 2nd Harry Potter book for the first time and it is fun to talk with her about the storyline and see her excited about it.
Trunk or treat fun- Baylor was a little overwhelmed with all the people and is on the tail end of a cold so she wasn't into it too much but did get quite a bit of candy.
Anna and Scott always go all out for their trunk and it's always fun to see what they come up with.
Paige hung out with her friend Lizzy and they went around and around and got SO much candy. It was fun to see them together and having a good time.
Then today we had our annual sandwich dinner with Dale and Margaret and Anna and Scott's family. Then we go to the country club where Scott's parents live to do our trick or treating. I love trick or treating there since there are hardly any cars, you get good candy and quite a few big candy bars, and it is very relaxing. We got super lucky this year and we didn't get rained on. Baylor didn't last very long and McCall was getting a little fussy so I went back to Scott's parents house with the two girls so that Paige could get more candy with Eliza and Brett. I love doing this with Anna and Scott and it is always a fun evening visiting with them while we watch the kids go from house or house.
Happy Halloween!!!

Thomasson Family Farm

We did our annual trip to Thomasson Family Farm. I actually got to go twice this year. Once with Baylor's preschool and then we went together as a family.

The day we went with Baylor's preschool was not quite as fun as when we went as a family. When you go with a preschool group, you got to different areas and are there for only 15 minutes so you go through the different areas pretty quick. Baylor was not in the mood to be social and was super shy. She clung to me or held my hand pretty much the entire time we were there and really didn't want to participate. I hope that by the end of the preschool year, she is a little more social with friends but we will see. She did warm up a little more towards the end and was really happy that she got to pick out her own pumpkin to take home. After our allotted time, we could have stayed longer but at that point I was done and that day was SUPER busy. In all the years that I have gone there, I have never seen it that busy so I was fine to go home and look forward to the day when we came as a family.
The day we went as a family was so much more enjoyable! It was a little cooler and we went on a Thursday in the afternoon and there was hardly anyone there which made it so much better. We took our time and we were there for about 3 hours. It was such a nice afternoon and we all had lots of fun.
McCall's first time going! She did great the entire time we were there.
Baylor's favorite spot is the corn box.
And McCall got to experience it for the first time. We are lucky she hasn't quite learned to put things in her mouth yet or she would have had a mouthful of corn kernels.
This was an added addition this year and Nate and Paige really liked it.
We all really liked these mazes.
Annual picture to see how they have grown and changed
I can't believe that I have 3 girls!!!
Then we did the corn maze all together. This was my favorite part of the day. It was fun and relaxing. We took a picture of the maze on a phone and Paige drew on it with a highlighter to keep track of where we were at and led us through the entire thing without getting lost. The corn was SO tall! Baylor wasn't the biggest fan and I ended up giving her a piggy back ride towards the end but I loved it and thought it was so fun. It was fun to have this quiet time together as a family as we visited and enjoyed the adventure and completing the challenge together.
McCall thought it was so relaxing that she fell asleep.
Back for more fun after the corn maze.
This is also a new area that they added this year which was great.
These bubbles were awesome!
One last picture before heading home- it was a great day!
This was McCall's first year going which made me want to look back on all the years that we have gone to Thomasson Farm. We have gone every year since 2013!

Here is Paige throughout the years- this year she made it a whole decade of going there!
Baylor's years going
See how they have grown!
I love traditions and outings with my family. It is amazing to see how my girls have grown over the years. I'm so grateful to be their mom and that I get to have a front row seat in watching them grow and learn.
