Letter S

There are so many fun ideas for the letter S. I came up with quite a few ideas but it being Paige's first week of preschool she was pretty tired once she got home from school. Sometimes it was hard for her to finish a craft because she got tired. I think once she gets used to going to school it will all be good. I decided to finish up the alphabet even though she is going to preschool and it will give her something to do when she gets home from school. Here is what she did last week for her letter S.

Paper plate snowman
Seahorse- I cut out one of the triangles and she traced the rest for me to cut out and then she added the glitter glue to give it some sparkle.
 S snake
 Painted some starfish
She made a star necklace. She saw one of the characters on Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood have a star necklace that she made and Paige wanted to make one for herself. In the show Daniel was sad that he didn't have a star necklace and Paige said that when she goes to see Daniel Tiger that she will make him a star necklace and give it to him so he has one. I have one sweet girl on my hands!

Balcony Oasis

We love our balcony! It is our own little oasis. When we picked what apartment we wanted we made sure that we picked the side that is looking over the forest instead of the parking lot. I am so glad that we made that decision. I love just staring out the large windows into the trees. You  can see squirrels, an occasional bunny, and lots of different kinds of birds. We also get to see all the beautiful sunsets.

This week we put up a hummingbird feeder and I LOVE it. There is a couple of hummingbirds that constantly are coming to it. I love to just sit on the couch and watch them.

When we were setting it up Nate held it up before hanging it on the chain and a hummingbird came up to it while he was holding it.
We also have a little garden on our balcony which is another thing I love. I love seeing the beautiful flowers and plants growing and Nate and I both enjoy taking care of it all and making it look nice.

I love my flowers. I got an old watering can from a yard sale before we moved in and I put lots of flowers in it once we move in. I got the two green pots and had some pansies in it for awhile. I love pansies because they remind me of my Grandma Peterson. The flowers though got a little long for the small pot and were dying so I went to the store a couple of weeks ago to get more of a fall flower. The flowers are all so beautiful!
Nate loves his little garden. We have a strawberry plant which was my one request. We only got one strawberry off it but it sure did taste good. And we also had a green pepper, a roma tomato, and a cherry tomato plant.
Nate loves being able to go out to the balcony and just pick and eat some of the cherry tomatoes.
The cherry tomato plant has taken over the rocking chair but it helps the plant stay up so it is all good.
The bowl of tomatoes I picked this morning.
 We love our little oasis!

Preschool

Today- September 12th, 2016 was Paige's first day of preschool! I can't believe my little girl is old enough to go to school. I debated whether to send her to preschool for awhile but I knew that she needed the social interaction and getting over separation anxiety. And I know she will love it!

I asked her a few questions today and I hope that I remember to ask her these questions every year before school starts so I can see the changes in answers.

Favorite Color: Pink, white, and sparkle
Favorite Food: Spaghetti and pizza
Favorite thing we did in the summer: Played at the lake
Favorite thing to do: Play with play dough
Other things that I love: Everything
What I want to be when I grow up: First she said a big sister and then I asked her what job she wants to do when she gets older and she said a basketball player

Margaret took Paige on a little back to school shopping spree. They got lots of cute outfits and had so much fun together. We had a little school photo shoot on Saturday and the pictures turned out so cute and I can't believe how big she looks.
Then last night she set out the outfit that she wanted to wear for her first day of school. She said she was excited but scared because it was something new. Nate gave her a father's blessing before she went to bed which was so sweet and I know that Heavenly Father will bless her so much and help her be brave.
Then today was the day! We left the house a bit early since she was so excited. We live right next to the school so we just walked over and waited until it was time for it to start. She even got to take a stuffed animal to school today since her teacher said it was okay to bring something to comfort her.
Waiting on the wall for more classmates to arrive before walking with her teacher to her classroom. She did awesome. She cried for a little bit when the teacher said it was time to walk to the classroom and came over to me so I walked her to her classroom and dropped her off there.
I almost cried on the way home but I held it together. It is scary leaving your child is someone else's care but I knew that she would love it. It was really quiet at home for those 2 1/2 hours. She was all smiles when she walked out of her classroom for me to pick her up. I asked her if she had fun and she gave me a huge smile whiled she nodded her head yes. Her teacher said she did great. She said Paige was a big helper and very kind to her classmates. She also said Paige was great at talking once she warmed up. I am so happy that she did so well!
Paige told me all about her day when we got home- She said she played with trains and with dolls. She said she loved playing outside on the playground, art time, and singing time. She told me also that tomorrow she won't need to take a stuffed animal anymore since she knew what it was like now and loved every minute of it.We then ate lunch and she played some but then she kept telling me she was so tired. After a while she curled up on the floor and fell asleep. Preschool is hard work. :)

I love my little preschooler!

Take Me Out To The Ball Game

Last week we supported Seattle sports teams and went to a Seattle Storm (WNBA) game and a Mariners game. I loved every minute of both of them!

The Covington Library had a summer reading program and Paige completed it for the summer and for her reward she got FREE tickets for all of us to the Storm game.
 Our half time entertainment.
I love watching the progression of Paige getting more and more into the game. At first it was just watching the mascot and seeing all the funny things he was doing. Then she got into the clapping and getting the rhythm down for the different claps. And by the end she was yelling defense when everyone else was. It was cute and fun to watch!
 And they even won!
A beautiful night with an amazing view of the space needle before we headed home.
Then last weekend we went to a Mariners game with Nate's parents. Paige set out her Mariners outfit the night before because she was so excited to go. She makes one cute Mariners fan!
Nate's disappointed look since in the first inning the other team got like 3 or 4 home runs.
After a few innings Paige got the one thing we promised to get at the game- cotton candy.
Then Paige and I went to the Kid's Corner. There was hardly any kids there and Paige got to show off her baseball skills.
First she ran to a base. She is pretty speedy and has good form for such a little girl.
Then she got to practice her swing.
Look at that face. She really wanted to hit the ball with some power.
Then she practiced her pitching. She needs a little work but she had fun.
Papa brought some binoculars and Paige loved them. She loved looking at the Space Needle, the Ferris Wheel, and then she started watching the baseball game through them and was so excited when she saw someone hit the ball. It was a great idea to have them!
Even though the Mariners lost it was a beautiful evening and the view was amazing!
