Winter Months

I'll be honest the winter months are hard and long. They are filled with lots of rainy days and it's cold outside and you just want to be inside all day but being outside is what feeds my soul and makes me happy. I'm so grateful for these two little girls that bring sunshine to my life during the winter time!

The first part of January when it was still Christmas break the girls decorated some graham cracker houses. Baylor broke her right at the beginning but she put a few pieces of candy on but most of the time was happy eating the candy. Paige was meticulous in her work and loves doing anything creative.
We had 2 snow days in January where school was cancelled. There was really not that much snow on the ground but they are very cautious here compared to what I am used to growing up in Idaho. The snow days were fun though and I loved having Paige home. Paige played outside with her cousins one day and Baylor hates everything about snow.
With the snow Nate had to do some overtime and had to work the night shift which was no fun for him at all. It also didn't help that they went back and forth with the shifts so it was hard to schedule his sleep. I really don't like the snow that much and then having a husband that has to do shift work for plowing when there is snow makes me dislike it that much more. These two girls made dad the cutest little cards for him and we all appreciate all that he does for us.
Another day Nate and Paige got out our fort kit and made this awesome fort that filled our family room. It had different rooms in it and Addison came over the next day and they spent quite a bit of time decorating it and making it "home".
Valentine's day came at the right time. It was fun preparing for it and the day before I had a really rough and emotional day. It was a perfect day filled with love, family, and lots of candy. The kitchen table and stairs were sprinkled with candy and there were lots of balloons and Nate surprised us in the morning with a big I heart U with sticky notes on the kitchen floor. I loved seeing the girls excitement and especially all of Baylor's "oohs" with every little thing.
Oh how she brings me so much joy and happiness with her cheesy little grin and silly antics!
Evening snack time!
This week there was no school for mid-winter break. Last year it was cold and snowy and this year we had close to 60 degree weather almost every day. It was amazing! We went to three different parks on three different days. The girls got to ride their bikes and blow bubbles outside. The daffodils are starting to bloom. It's so close to spring which makes my heart so happy. One of the park days we took Addison with us and went to a newer park in Maple Valley. The girls all loved it and I loved soaking up all the sun as I followed Baylor around.
