Snow Fun

Yesterday we had a little snow storm here in Firth and then today the sun was shining so we decided to have some fun in the snow.
Nate and I found our snowman kit and wanted to build a sweet snowman but as we tried to roll a ball the snow was not sticky enough and it was just not working. Then I got the idea that we could just make the snowman laying down. It was pretty fun to shape the body and then make it look like he had fallen and was trying to get back up. Nate and I are both pretty proud of our awesome creation.
Trying to help the poor snowman up.
We also found Paige's snow suit today and decided to take her out to see how she would like it and she cried pretty much the entire time so we'll just say the time spent outside with her didn't last very long.

11 Months

I can't believe that our little girl is 11 months and that next month she will be celebrating her 1st birthday. It has gone by way too fast.
Here is what Paige is up to at 11 months:
  • Goes up stairs really well and just started today to kind of figure out how to go down backwards.
  • Likes laying in her bed for awhile before falling asleep.
  • Gets to where she wants by cruising and crawling.
  • Likes to walk around with you holding her hands.
  • When she hears the water for her bath she gets so excited.
  • Her new favorite toy is a little musical table that she loves to rock out on the piano part of it.
  • She loves to push things around.
  • She likes to pull things off shelves especially books and to take things out of cupboards and drawers.
  • Is quite a good eater and she pretty much tries anything I give her though she is picky about baby food if it is not fruit but likes to try different solid foods.
  • Wakes up once a night still though we are dreaming for the day that she sleeps through the night consistently.
  • Has quite the personality and makes the funniest and cutest faces.

Who Knew?

One of our fears coming home from Washington is that Paige would be crazy on the plane and not want to sit still but flying to and from Washington she slept half the plane ride. It was wonderful. Who knew the sound of an airplane would put her right to sleep.

Heart Day

We had a wonderful Valentine's day! It was a day full of hearts- heart shaped pancakes for breakfast, heart shaped meatloaf, jello, and biscuits for dinner. Nate and I went out for lunch and it was nice to have a little date to ourselves. We spoiled each other with some goodies and snacks and then we played the Celestial Marriage Game with my parents in the evening. It was a nice day and I think Paige loved all the sweets!

She took a few bites of her pancake but had a lot more fun tearing it up into little pieces.
She saw the candy as soon as we put her on the table.
She was pretty proud of herself for being able to unwrap the chocolate by herself and taste of its goodness.
 Nate knows me well- CHOCOLATE!

Geocaching

I was introduced to geocaching when I married into the Smith family. In my mind it is like going on a treasure hunt. I think it is pretty fun and Nate thinks it funny how excited I get when I finally find "the treasure."

It was a nice day in Washington and so we decided to enjoy the outdoors and went in search for some geocaches.
First you have to set the coordinates for the geocaches that you want to find in a GPS.
Then you follow your trusty GPS and also hints given by the creator of the geocache you are looking for. It may be high or low so you have to have a good eye.
Once you find it, you get to pick a treasure and replace it with something that you brought.

Then you write your name and  the date to prove that you found that geocache.
You can go to Geocache.com and find the geocaches around you and start your own treasure hunt.

First Trip to Library

We took Paige to her first library activity. We went with Margaret and Anna and Brett. The activity had a lady sing songs and read stories. She also had this sweet bubble machine and it took Paige a little bit but she did try and pop some after awhile. Then after the activity we wondered around the library and Paige had fun crawling around and taking books off the shelves.

Amaluna

The last week of January, the day finally came that I have been waiting for and the reason why we delayed our stay in Washington. I won tickets to Cirque Du Soleil Amaluna. Nate and I made it a date night and went to Claim Jumper for dinner and then to the show. It was so incredible. I loved all the acrobatic moves. It was incredible what some of the people could do. If you want to see parts of what we saw you can look up Amaluna on youtube. It was such a fun evening and a once it a lifetime opportunity.
