Letter E was much harder since I mostly wanted to do things with the soft e sound which there aren't many options for. There were a few things we did with a different e sound, but I tried not to confuse McCall too much. This week was also conference week for Baylor which meant she had a short day every day, so it was a busy week.
On Monday we started the week with an elephant craft. She colored the paper plate grey. We are continuing on working on having her hold her the writing utensil right and she is getting better. She cut out the nose piece, and I cut out the rest and then she taped the pieces on.
Then I showed her how to write a lowercase and uppercase e in sand and then she spent some time just drawing in the sand.
Tuesday, she dyed eggs. She really enjoyed this, and I had her first draw on the eggs with a white crayon so it would show up through the dye.
We enjoyed some egg salad sandwiches on our annual trip to the farm as a family the next day.
Wednesday, she made an egg craft. I drew a lowercase block letter e and then she colored the middle part yellow for the yolk and then glued cotton balls on the rest of the e for the white part of the egg.
Then she painted an egg carton.
Thursday, we did an eye spy craft. We first talked about the different colors of eyes in our family and then she drew her own eyes. She cut out one and then we taped it on a popsicle stick and played eye spy with the wand.
Then she did some eraser painting.
Friday, she made an Easter egg. We have a hot plate that we put the paper on and then she colored it with crayons, and she could see how the crayon color melts on the paper with the hot plate.
