There are so many fun things to do that start with the letter D which led to a fun week with our little preschooler.
On Monday we did a paper bag dog craft. She cut out most of the pieces and helped glue them on. She thought it was pretty cute and of course she is pretty cute.
Then she dug for dog bones in kinetic sand that had things that started with the letter D on them.
Tuesday we started off with dot art work.
Then she used the dot markers to create the outside of her card for Dad to trace the letter D. I was so impressed with her drawing of people. In the card, she drew herself and Dad and at this age it is common for kids to draw "potato head" people, a circle with arms and legs drawn straight from the circle. She was pretty detailed and when I suggested she draw the arms, I thought she would just draw a line. She drew the line and continued and said to me that she needed to draw the hands. She drew circles at the end of her stick arms and then continue to draw 5 fingers on each hand without counting out loud. It was the cutest picture!
Then we went and found Dad at work and took him his card and a little treat. It was such a beautiful day, so we stayed at the park and had some fun.
On Wednesday, McCall did a dinosour craft out of a paper plate and a toilet paper tube. It was a lot of painting, and she did great. We had to wait until the next day for it all to be dry and put the dinosaur together.
Then after the painting, she went outside to do some digging. I hid some toy bugs in the dirt and then she got to dig them out.
Then since Wednesday is a short day for Paige and Baylor, we waited for them to get home to make some dirt cups for a little snack.
Thursday was our donut day and so first we stopped at the store for her to pick out a donut.
Then she created her own donut out of paper. I cut the inside part of the donut and frosting out and then she cut the outside part out. Because her donut had chocolate frosting, she was convinced that the donut part of her craft was the frosting so that is why she drew the sprinkles on that part versus on the orange frosting.
Friday, we started off making some drums. We each did one and put tissue paper over a plastic cup with a rubber band. Then we sang some songs while we played our drums. Then I had put 5 ducks on popsicle, sticks and we sang "5 Little Ducks".
McCall looks forward to preschool every day now and even asks if it is time to do preschool. I'm glad that she is enjoying it and I love watching her learn.
