The end of August we decided to do one last Friday outing before school started. We went up to the Snoqualmie tunnel and took the girl's bikes for them to go through some of it. I wanted to go through it again since at the reunion we didn't go in and Nate wasn't with us. We probably made it about half way through before we turned around. We could briefly see each end of the tunnel. It was a pretty warm day but it was so cold in the tunnel. It was such a cool thing to experience and I'm glad we did it even though it was short.
We had a little picnic before driving a bit further to one of my favorite kid-friendly hikes, Asahel Curtis trail. It is a mile loop and is so pretty. There are some really large trees, amazing and green undergrowth and some fun boardwalks and stairs that the girls love to walk on. Baylor walked the entire way and was practically running from thing to thing. Both of my girls love being outside and we are all in our happy place when we are in nature.
There are also some really cool trees that are growing on top of large rocks like the first picture.
At the beginning and end of the loop you walk over this bridge and this gorgeous stream that has lots of rocks and little waterfalls. When we were done with our hike we went and climbed on the rocks and touched the freezing cold water and threw lots of rocks in the water. Baylor thought it was so funny and the bigger the splash, the bigger the reaction from her.
It was a perfect little outing to end our summer break!
