So the first thing we did on our Halloween list today was boo a neighbor. I think whoever put this list together thought of leaving a treat on someone's doorstep and running away after you ring the doorbell. I figured with Paige I didn't think she could run fast enough without getting caught so we did it the more simple way. We just delivered a treat to some friends while saying Happy Halloween.
Our job was to make the treat. We made Halloween shaped sugar cookies.
We were working on cutting out all the shapes and I turned for one minute and came back to cute little fingerprints in the pumpkin shaped cookie dough.
Paige had fun helping with pushing the cookie cutters into the dough but she had even more fun playing in the flour. It was all over her clothes, her face, her hands, and her feet. After a little bit she was "cleaning" the flour off the counter by pushing it onto the floor. She had fun and I had a bit of a mess to clean up once we were done. :)
So while the cookies were cooling we went to the park to do our second thing on our Halloween list for the day- fly a kite. We have been waiting for a day that is windy enough to do this but also when it wasn't pouring rain. This afternoon happened to be perfect. Paige was a little bit scared of the kite at first but towards the end she was saying "Stay up Rapunzel." It didn't last very long. It was kind of hard trying to keep a kite up in the air while holding onto the kite and holding a camera but it was fun.
Then we headed home and frosted our sugar cookies.
Of course Paige enjoying eating the frosting more than doing what she was suppose to be doing. But I guess that is the fun part of frosting cookies :)
Two of our plates of cookies went to Paige's nursery leaders. She loves nursery and she has great teachers. Nate directed Paige in drawing a jack-o-lantern on a paper to give with the cookies. She is doing so good at drawing faces. Paige and I then went a delivered some plates of cookies. It was a fun day!
