My parents came for Paige's baptism and we were lucky enough for them to also bring Charlotte and Juliette. The trip was short but we packed it in with lots of fun things and the girls sure had fun together.
Friday evening they arrived and the girls got right to work setting up their room and decorating it. Then they made slime and helped me husk corn for dinner. I didn't really see them much that evening. They were happy to be reunited again!
Saturday was the baptism and then after that Pops bought some candy and Aaron helped with a game that incorporated it. It was fun to watch!
Then most of the evening it was riding the go-cart. The adults visited most of the time while the kids took turns but eventually the adults took some turns too.
Baylor did take a turn with Nate but she wasn't much of a fan so most of the time she was on her much preferred "princess bike" going around and around and those driving the go-cart trying to avoid her since she is a bit of a tease and unpredictable.
Then that evening we took the kayaks out and the girls went swimming in the lake.
It was a beautiful evening and the sun setting made for some gorgeous pictures. It was a bit chilly for swimming but the girls didn't seem to mind. Whenever one of us would come up to shore or leave on the kayak the girls would chase us and were sharks trying to get our kayak.
I love listening to them laugh and talk. They are pretty close and have so much fun together. I wish we lived closer so that we could get together WAY more often.
Nate and I took a turn taking the kayaks out and these 3 planes flew right over and with Mount Rainier in the background it was picture perfect.
The girls were pretty cold from playing in the lake so a dip in the hot tub warmed them up quick.
Grandma read them a night time story each evening and you can tell in this picture that they were up WAY too late the night before. Paige and Juliette were out right after the lights turned off.
Sunday we were able to have our sacrament meeting all together and then right after lunch we went to Tahoma National Cemetery and walked around. It was a hotter day but was it is always peaceful to walk around there.
Baylor was walking along the curb with Nona and then was excitedly pointing at something. We all thought she was talking about her shadow and then I saw it, a little frog. All the girls were excited about it and Paige scooped it right up to show everyone and then put it more in the shade and near the water.
Such cute girls!
Then after dinner we went and walked around Pretzel Interpretive Trail. I blogged about this trail about a month ago and I knew my mom would really like the story. It is such a pretty walk through the trees and not very long for young kids.
Old Man's Beard
Then we made a quick stop to the Cedar River to let the girls put their feet in the water and they loved throwing in the biggest rocks they could find and lift.
We also found some blackberries to enjoy for quick snack before heading home.
Monday we spent most of the day at Lake Wilderness. We first went on a walk through the trails. It was beautiful and green and just so lush. I love walks and trails here! They are always so pretty.
We stopped at the children's nature exploration area they have and let the girls climb on the trees. Juliette is one little monkey with her climbing skills.
Then walking around we stumbled upon the storyboards that I was looking for last time we came here. It was a cute little story about a hike and the things they saw and did on their hike and the girls took turns each reading a board.
Then we found the little book library they have there and the girls all read a few stories while I got our picnic from the car.
After we ate some lunch the girls went swimming in the lake. They went out as far as they could since it was deeper out there for them to swim so I didn't get too many good pictures of them but they sure had fun.
This little one I got so many cute pictures of! She kept inching further and further out and would just look back at my with her mischievous grin until I told her to come back. She is at the stage where she likes to test boundaries. :)
They were freezing when they got out and went in the hot tub for a little bit when we got home. They just played outside and did lots of drawings while Baylor took her nap and I got dinner ready.
Then that evening we had family home evening and for dessert we had a fire and did smores. We also learned how to make baskets out of leaves from the story today so the girls tried it out and they were so cute and worked out perfectly for some berry picking.
Mmmm!
Baylor roasted her first marshmallow. She didn't quite understand the idea of spinning it so I helped her out a little. It was cute to watch and see how she wanted to stand back as far away as possible from the fire.
The girls then had a "snowball" fight with some paper. I love seeing their smiles and laughter.
I caught this cute moment on camera right before bed. She had Poppy read some books to her while the other girls had Grandma read their book to them.
Then Tuesday was their last day and they left in the afternoon so we made the most of our morning by going to Dash Point State Park. We went at low tide and it was a beautiful day!
Baylor loved the water and the other girls loved looking for shells.
Lot of clam shells and sand dollars and Charlotte was excited to find her own unicorn horn shell.
Then it was sand castle time. They spent at least an hour digging and creating.
Grandma dug a hole until she reached water and was finding clam that were a little bit open and a little crab and everyone was fascinated by it all.
We stopped and got some Ivars for the adults and Taco Bell for the girls on the way home. We had a late lunch and then they were on their way back to Idaho. It was such a fun few days with them and we did so many fun things!
Until next time!
