Easter

We had such a wonderful Easter weekend. We had beautiful weather and we were filled with joy for the love we have for our family and for our love for our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Paige and Nona created this resurrection garden. They saw the idea online and created it. They have the sweetest relationship and are always doing something together.
We had our Easter egg hunt with the girls on Thursday since it was the nicest day of the week and got into the low 70's. Paige was so excited about it all and even helped me fill the eggs during Baylor's nap. She wanted to hide some for Nate and I so the girls hid ours in the front yard while we hid theirs in the back yard. I love Easter egg hunts with kids. I love seeing their excitement over finding each egg. Baylor in her rubber boots was just the cutest with a grin the entire time and all sorts of exclaims for each egg that she found. Paige was running all over the place and she told us to hide hers harder this year since she is now 8. We missed being able to do this activity with cousins and friends but it was still filled with lots of joy and happiness.
Paige's friend, Addison and her little sister came over Saturday night for a little surprise. They hid eggs for each of the girls to find in our front yard. They were able to have social distancing and enjoy seeing each other from a distance. It was such a sweet and thoughtful gesture from her best friend. The girls loved it so much and it was special to have a little extra egg hunt.
Then Saturday after dinner the girls dyed eggs. We just used food coloring this year and found a chart with lots of different colors to pick from using food coloring. Paige decided on the 6 colors she wanted and mixed the colors up. Paige took her time and Baylor was just going from one egg to the next one. She loved scooping the egg out of the dye to check it and then loved stirring the dye once the egg was out. They both stayed fairly clean though Baylor did try and drink the dye a couple of times. :)
Easter morning was fun and simple. The girls were excited to find their baskets and Paige had left some eggs out for the Easter bunny to fill and hide and he delivered. Eggs hidden all in the front room and all of our baskets were hidden downstairs.
We are still at home for church so we had a simple Easter sacrament meeting and watched lots of Bible videos about the last few days of Christ's life. I am so incredibly grateful for the Atonement and Resurrection of Jesus Christ!

I made these dresses for Derek and Amy's girls a few years back. Amy had given 2 of them back to me since her girls are grown and now my girls are big enough to wear them. Baylor's is still a little bit long on her but they looked so cute in their matching dresses and they worked perfectly for Easter.
Oh how I love these 2 sweet girls that bring me such joy and happiness!
 I have pretty incredible in-laws!
 Happy Easter!
