Unicorn Birthday

Paige has been counting down the days until her birthday and the day finally arrived. She has been planning it for months and she definitely has the party planner gene and is very detail oriented. She loved going to the store getting things for the party and planned all the games, what she wanted for dinner, different decorations, and designed her own cake. Addison got to join us for the party and she came over right after school. They had fun helping set up and playing together.
When everyone came to the party they got a name tag and got to write their unicorn name. We saw this idea on Pinterest but you had to pay to get theirs so I just created my own on Microsoft. Since Pop's birthday is the only one in April we had some fun with it. It was Nate's idea to had Dingle Berry for April so Pop's unicorn name was Dreamy Dingle Berry. We all had some good laughs about it.
Another one of Paige's ideas was to have little candy jars for them to guess when they arrived at the party.
Here is her planning paper. She typed it up a few months ago and you can see her cake design and how it turned out exactly how she wanted.
She helped decorate the outside of her cake.
The first game that everyone played was unicorn Bingo while I finished dinner. For dinner Paige wanted an Italian dinner (she gets that from me)- lasagna, Alfredo, bread sticks, and salad.
Then right before dinner and after dinner everyone decorated their own unicorn horn for Pin the Horn on the Unicorn. Paige did most of the work. I got the projector down and she copied a unicorn onto a clear sheet and drew the unicorn on the poster and drew all the horns. I cut out the horns and Paige painted the unicorn all by herself.
Baylor was so cute putting her horn on. She wanted a turn even though she didn't understand what she was doing.
My horn isn't even in the picture because I was WAY off. I get dizzy easily and was all over the place.
The second game we played that Paige came up with was Don't Step in the Unicorn Poop. We put little pieces of colorful play dough on the ground and you had to close your eyes and walk through it all and try not to step on the "poop". The kids loved this game and went over and over.
Then it was cake time! I love her cake because it turned out exactly how Paige wanted and it is totally her. It was also her idea to have the surprise Skittles in the inside so when you cut the cake they would fall out. She didn't want anyone to know about the surprise beforehand so they could see it for the first time when we cut the cake.
Then she opened her presents. She got lots of great things and she is so Nate and I's child and doesn't show much emotion when she is opening presents. She was happy with all the things that she got and she is one loved young lady.
We got her a small bubble machine and we set it up and it was the perfect thing to end her perfect party. The kids had fun playing outside before it was time to go home.
Happy Birthday Paige! I can't believe that you are already 7. How is it possible that you grew up so fast? I love you more than anything and you are one incredible daughter!
