Blackberries

We started out with an empty bowl but ended up having to get a bigger bowl and go and pick multiple times because there is plenty of blackberries to go around here in the Pacific Northwest.
We even brought the little one along to join in on the fun.
She helped by hanging onto the bowl the entire time.
The pickings were good and even more on the way. So I am sure we will be picking berries for the rest of the time we are here in Washington.
Picking blackberries is a love/hate kind of thing: love the berries but hate the thorns. It is definitely worth it to deal with the thorns though.
Paige even wanted the taste the goodness.
 One small bowlful to enjoy.
Many more bowls were picked so we could make some homemade jam.
It was Nate's idea to make the jam so he did most of the work with the help of his mom. He informed me while I was feeding Paige that canning is a pain because of all the dirty dishes.
Many dishes later the jam was done. It is so good! I think Nate is in heaven.
