Day in the Life

There is a trend on social media where people send a pictures to each other every hour of their day to see what a day in their life looks like. Nate was joking with me that he doesn't actually know what I do all day, so we decided to try out the trend. So here is what the average Tuesday looks like in the Smith household. I tried to text about each hour and then Nate would send me his picture.

5:30-6:30 am: I get up at 5:15 to make Paige breakfast and then Nate takes her to seminary and then to work at 6 am.
6:30-7:30 am: I usually try to go back to sleep for an hour once they leave, but today I was trying to catch up on my scripture study and took advantage of the quiet hour I had before the other two girls got up and Nate was fueling his truck and getting ready to go out for the day.
7:30-8:30 am: I make Baylor, McCall, and myself breakfast and then I do a 20-30 minute workout. Nate was getting his mower ready for the day because he had to mow a lot of the parks today.
8:30-9:30 am: I took Baylor to school and Nate was mowing.
9:30-10:30 am: I cleaned the kitchen and got the house picked up and did preschool with McCall and Nate was still mowing.
10:30-11:30 am: Nate was still mowing and I was working on trunk or treat prep and McCall was playing with Legos and puzzles.
11:30 am -12:30 pm: Lunch time for both of us.
12:30-1:30 pm: I went to my Inklings group where we talk about conference talks (I do this every Tuesday) and Nate was still mowing and saw this huge toad in the pond.
1:30-2:30 pm: I was picking up Paige from school and Nate was on the gater at his shop doing work.
2:30-3:30 pm: I was doing some more trunk or treat with the hour I had after I picked up Paige and before I had to go get Baylor and Nate was working and looking at his computer before he was done for the day.
3:30-4:30 pm: McCall loves to join me to pick up Baylor from school and Nate got home from work.
4:30-5:30 pm: I made dinner and Nate ran to the store with McCall to get something that I needed for dinner.
5:30-6:30 pm: I got the kitchen cleaned up from dinner and went outside with the girls and Nate stayed in and cleaned up some things and listed things to sell.
6:30-7:30 pm: I was outside with Celina while the kids played out on the street and rode bikes and then we were all together watching some TV and getting ready for bed.
8:30-9:30 pm: We got the girls to bed, then Nate and I watched On Patrol Live for an hour, and then we went to bed at 9:30.
Just a normal day, but no one else I would rather do life with.

Annual Trip to the Farm

We made our annual trip to Thomasson Family Farm. It is one thing that I love about fall and I always look forward to it every October. We started our adventure off with the corn maze. The girls lead us through it and Nate and I just follow behind, letting them take us whatever path they want. It is very relaxing and probably one of my favorite parts of the whole thing.
We made it through the maze!
Then we wandered through the farm, trying to avoid the big field trip groups and going to places where they weren't. We pet animals, had fun with the different photo ops, Baylor and McCall tried some roping and bubble, Paige loved the mega slide, and Nate and I just love following them around and being with them.
We went on a little hayride through the pumpkin patch- SO many pumpkins!
The apple slingshot was open for us this year, which we all loved.
Then up the hill for more games, the farm themed playground, and the little tractor ride for the girls.
Then of course, the favorite spot for all of us, especially McCall, the corn box! We had so much fun burying each other, going down the slides, and playing horsey rides and bucking each other off into the corn. McCall and Baylor took a bath in the evening and there were corn kernels all over the bathroom floor.
A few more photo ops and playing before heading home for the day.
The first time we went was back in 2013 when Paige was just 1 years old. Look at my family now! Three of the cutest girls that are growing up way too fast!
We loved our time at the farm and continued the family fun into the evening with a fire.
What a wonderful day!

Paige started HIGH SCHOOL this year! I can’t believe she is in 9th grade and moving onto this giant high school. She is loving it. Her classes have required more of her and early morning seminary has been a big adjustment, but she is doing amazing at staying on top of it all and loves spending extra time with her friends. She is stunning- inside and out! I know that she will be a light to the world around her.  I’m excited to see how she grows and learns over this year.

What You Want To Be When You Grow Up: Stay at Home Mom or Teacher

Baylor is in 3rd grade and was super excited for school to start back up. She loves being with her friends and excels in the classroom setting. I know she will grow this year in her math skills and reading and has an excellent teacher. She loves to be a helper, and I got the kindest email from her teacher after a week of school, complimenting Baylor and how she has been raised. She is a great friend and brings fun and silliness into our world.

McCall: Preschool

Favorite Color: Blue & Red

Favorite Food: Mac & Cheese

Favorite Treat: Ice Cream Sandwich

Favorite Thing We Did This Summer: Going to Grandma & Poppy’s House

Some Things You Love: Daddy, Paw Patrol toys

What You Want To Be When You Grow Up: Police (Chase from Paw Patrol)

I’m grateful that I get my little sidekick for one more year. I decided to not put her in a preschool and just do an at home preschool. She has loved it and we have been doing a fun theme every week. I don’t know what I will do next year when all the girls are in school. I’m already very sad about it so I am going to soak up every moment with my little girl this year. She is such a joy and brings so much love into our family.
Let's have a great school year!!!
