Halloween

Another fun holiday and holiday traditions with my girls!

We took our pumpkins over to Nona and Pop's house so they could join the fun with this yearly tradition.
Paige's turned out so fun and creative!
I volunteered to help with the ward trunk or treat. I really love coming up with a fun theme and ideas for a ward party and then seeing it come to life is the best. This year I decided on a pumpkin theme. Paige made the cutest invitation for it! Then I spent about 2 weeks during nap time creating all the different pieces.

I used all orange tablecloths and for centerpieces used wood rounds, fake candles, and dollar store ribbon and flowers. I used tablecloths for the big giant jack-o-lanterns on the walls, and then I had my young women and the primary kids decorate pumpkins to also add to the walls.
I love these little touches and creations that I came up with to add to the pumpkin decor!
Then we had pumpkin inspired games in the back of the gym that Paige and I came up with. We had pumpkin tic tac toe with small white and orange pumpkins, a short course with a small pumpkin and you use a broom to push it through, pumpkin ring toss, and pumpkin golf.
Paige came up with this game all on her own and created most of it. She covered her bean bag toss with the pumpkins and then if the kid playing got a bean bag in one of the holes then they got to put pieces on the pumpkin and create a jack-o-lantern.
And the last part of the decorations was for people to bring their carved pumpkins for everyone to enjoy while we were out trunk or treating.
It was a fun evening. We had a live band which was such a fun hit and everyone loved it. We had close to 150 people there and had a potluck dinner. Some people signed up and brought pumpkin inspired desserts.

McCall was milk and I was cookies for our costumes.
And Paige and Baylor also were a pair when it came to their costumes. Baylor was Rapunzel and Paige was her frying pan. :)
Then on Halloween, we did our annual sandwich dinner with Anna and Scott's family and Nona and Pops. Paige's friend, Emily, got to join us this year. Right after dinner, we quickly got ready and went to the country club for our usual trick or treating place and trying to get as many big candy bars as possible. :)

Paige, Emily, and Baylor were all hippies and they were so cute. McCall didn't really dress up or go up to any doors, but I had her snow suit on so that she would stay warm and put a her little tutu on over it so it looked like she had somewhat of a costume on. It was pretty cute when she was done with the stroller and her just roaming the streets. She had no idea what she was missing out on. :) Baylor did good for about half the time and was running from house to house and leading the pack, but then got tired and got cold. I pushed her in the stroller for a bit until we got to a place where I could go back to the house with her and McCall and waited there for the older kids to be done.
Fun with cousins and friends
Paige could have stayed out even longer getting even more candy, but she did regret it the next morning staying out later than normal. Both girls have been enjoying candy pretty much every day.
Happy Halloween!
