12 Months: One Year with Baylor

This past year has flown by! I can't believe that it has been a whole year since I got to hold this sweet baby in my arms for the first time. We waited so long for her and we have loved all 365 days with her. Happy Birthday Baylor!
Here's what Baylor is up to at 12 months:

  • She is 17 lbs 5 oz (12th percentile) and is 2 feet 4 1/2 inches (21st percentile).
  • She us super smiley except when the camera comes out then she is miss serious.
  • Getting pictures of her is so much harder now because she is always on the move. She still does her monkey crawl 95% of the time and I love it. Once you put her down she is on the move.
  • She loves Paige the most. She is always laughing with her, looking to see where she is at and what is doing, and following her around.
  • She loves to wave to people and is pretty good at saying hi/bye (they sound about the same) and sometimes she even says hello. She will usually say hello when she is "talking" to someone on the phone. She uses our phones or a toy and put them up to her ear and says hello and then just chatters away.
  • This past week she has started to pull herself up to a stand and she is pretty proud of herself when she does it though she isn't quite sure about getting back down.
  • She is becoming a better eater and is starting to enjoy other foods besides baby food. Her favorite baby food is still banana or anything with banana in it. She loves avocado and refried beans, small pieces of grilled cheese sandwich, pancake, egg, anything noodle, and she loves mashed potatoes.
  • She is still a horrible sleeper and a four hour stretch is a good stretch of sleep for her. I wonder if she will ever sleep through the night but I know it will happen eventually.
  • She loves to empty out drawers that she can get into, helping me unload the dishwasher, playing in the fridge, climbing through the chairs and table legs, playing peek a boo, and being chased. She loves her blanket and will snuggle her face into it and will hug it so tight she she sees it.
  • She will put her hands out to you when she wants to be picked up. It is so cute that she almost always get her way. If you are not picking her up then she will try and climb up your leg until you do pick her up.
  • She loves stuffed animals and dolls. She loves to hug them and carry them around.
  • She loves to shower. When she hears the shower she will get in there as fast as she can and try to climb in herself.
  • She loves to be outside and will bolt to the door as soon as it opens. If she does get outside before you close it then she gets a big smile on her face that says success.

On her birthday it was just us and so I got a donut to do a little celebration since we having a big party the next day. She didn't really want to eat it but liked taking the sprinkles off of it and had a little bit if we gave it to her.
We gave her some books to open on her birthday and Paige made this cute little bag to put them in.
She also opened up her presents from Nona and Pops while we face timed them. She got the cutest little doll that is the perfect size for her and this cute hedgehog. She also got an adorable outfit.
Baylor loves to sit on things. She will be reading a book or playing with a flatter toy and after a while she ends up sitting on top of them. She loved sitting on the box that her present came in.
Then Friday we had Christy and Lylia, Anna and Scott and their family, and Aaron and his kids all over for a big party for Baylor. We had dinner and cake and ice cream. Baylor wasn't so sure about everyone singing to her.
Again she didn't eat much of her cake but enjoying playing in it more than anything.
She got an adorable horse toy for her Christy, another cute outfit from Grandma and Papa P, and a stuffed animal from Paige. Baylor you have so many people that love you! You are so lucky and we are lucky that you are in our lives!
