For a couple of weeks we got to house sit on the lake again. We love doing this and enjoy the little vacation away from home. During the week we stayed at our apartment since Paige had preschool but during the weekends we stayed there and we enjoyed every minute of it. The view is incredible and there was a few warm days where we enjoyed playing outside. Paige got to fish for the first time. She LOVED it! She got good at casting the line herself and enjoyed letting it sit there for a bit and then reeling it in. She didn't catch anything but she enjoyed every minute of it.
A couple of weekends ago it was a rainy day and Margaret had a groupon for Jozee Rooz Indoor Petting Zoo. So we got to go with them. None of us had been there before and it was turned out to be pretty fun. It is in this tiny strip mall so we were kind of unsure what it would be like but it was this big open area with farm animals just walking around and you get to walk around with them and pet whichever ones you want. The open area had cows, pigs, goats, and some baby sheep that were the cutest and I wanted to take them home with me. Then it some separate areas they had rabbits in one area, a baby kangaroo in another, and then some type of bird, and then a last area with two snakes in cages and a big tortoise. Paige loved petting all the animals. She really liked the bunnies and feeding them some hay. It was such a fun little outing.
Aren't they so cute?
Brushing the goat's fur.
Then this past weekend we had some sun so we went on a little walk on the Soos Creek Trail to soak up some sun rays. We were almost done when Nate spotted this turtle. We thought it was dead but then Nate touched it and it moved. We had fun "petting" it and Nate and I both held it and moved it so it wasn't so much in the open. It was fun little outing and we hope to do many more once the sun is out more often.
