In the Smith family the 4th of July is a highly anticipated holiday and we sure had a lot of fun this year.
Paige's hair turned out great this year compared to last. Much longer hair to work with was nice. :)
Drawing of the firework circle.
Paige insisted that she wanted to write her own name this year.
Look at all those cute kiddos.
The middle circle always looks amazing every year! The Smith boys are talented artists.
We had a mostly relaxing afternoon just trying to stay cool by staying in the shade and visiting. The memorable part of the afternoon is we saw some smoke and a few people ran over to the forest which is across the street from the house and there was a fire so Rachel called 911 and we were taking buckets of water over until the firetruck arrived. I wish I would of gotten a picture but in that moment I didn't think of it.
Aaron and his family in charge of the homemade ice cream. We had a delicious dinner and then it was time for the fireworks!
Paige and her new friend Ryan (Adam and Chelsea's nephew). They had great fun through the day and kept each other entertained.
Adam with his backpack. :)
Telling the rules about the circle so everyone stays safe during the lighting of fireworks.
The first thing lit every year is smoke bombs.
As soon as the fireworks started Paige started crying so the rest of the day she spent inside watching some shows and even took a nap. One year, maybe, she will like them.
Brett and his parachute man.
Action shot of Mikey catching his parachute guy.
Snake pit.
A few more fireworks were set. The kids are really good at taking turns. We then had delicious desserts and then it was time for the tank wars.
The aftermath.
Proof that I did join in some. With fireworks I am the type of person that likes to just enjoy and watch everyone else light them.
The pretty fountains (my favorite type of firework) was saved for the evening when it was darker. We finished up our fireworks and headed over the lake for the big firework show over Lake Meridian. It was a great day and we all can't wait until next year!
