On Wednesday, Margaret, Nate, Paige, and I braved the cold to be a part of the Superbowl Parade. We left about 8:30 in the morning and had to wait around for about 3 hours until the parade was to us. My toes were frozen but it was all worth it to see all the players and their excitement. It was amazing to see all the fans. Some people said there was about 700,000 people and others said about 1 million. Whatever the number it was a lot of people to support their home team.
Here is where we stood waiting for the parade. It started about an hour late because of the people surrounding the players trying to get off the buses to get on the floats.
I am proud to be a 12th man!
The families on buses were first to drive by and then the cheerleaders along with Marshawn Lynch.
He decided that he wanted to ride on the cheerleader float and was on the front of the car being showered with Skittles as well as him throwing Skittles to everyone while everyone chanted "Beast Mode."
Then the governor and mayor and owners all drove by but I was most excited for Coach Carroll and all the players and to see the coveted trophy. It was fun chanting with everyone different things depending on who was driving by like "MVP" for Malcolm Smith and "Wilson" for Russel Wilson and "LOB" for the Legion of Boom.
The end of the parade was at Century Link field where they had this big pep rally and Nate had gotten tickets to go to Safeco Field where they were broadcasting it on the big screen. It was pretty late by the time the parade had passed us and I had Achievement Days so Margaret and I had Dale come and get us and Nate and Adam stayed and watched the big celebration. It would have been cool to see but I really wanted to go to Achievement Days.
All the people going to the two stadiums which by the way were both sold out.
It was quite the thing to experience in person and I hope that I can do it again one day! Maybe next year. :)
