Cousin Time in Boise

We made the quick decision to drive to Boise for a long weekend with cousins. It was worth the drive and so much fun! It all happened because I found out on Sunday that Derek and Amy were staying in this big house that had lots of space and then I realized the girls didn't have school on Friday so I made the quick decision to make the drive. We drove most of the day on Thursday and arrived about 15 minutes ahead of Derek and Amy. It was perfect timing and these girls immediately started having fun. They love their time with cousins. They loved wandering around the house, playing games, doing gymnastics, and just being together. Thursday was a relaxing night though it ended with McCall in tears and complaining that her ears hurt. She was on the tail end of a cold so we got worried that it was an ear infection. It was late by this time and we didn't want to take her to the ER. So I rocked her to sleep and Nate gave her a priesthood blessing which was a miracle that she pretty much went to sleep right after that and slept through the night and was good the rest of the time we were there.
Friday was a lazy morning with more just relaxing at the house and then after lunch we went and had some fun. Grandma and Poppy had arrived at this time so Grandma was tired so she stayed back with McCall and Baylor and Derek stayed back to work but the rest of us went bowling. It was so much fun!
The place we went bowling was called Wahooz Fun Zone and it had all sorts of things so we did one game of bowling and still had some time so Paige, Juliette, and Emily all went on the ropes course that was three stories high. They could have stayed up there way longer but we had to get back home to make dinner so we could get to the high school in time to watch Charlotte do her solo dance.
Charlotte didn't know that we were coming. I made a big poster/birthday card since this was her 18th birthday with all sorts of pictures of her and we all signed it. We walked into the gym and the reaction on her face was perfect and priceless. It was surprise and shock but she was so grateful. It was so sweet!
It was so beautiful to watch Charlotte dance her solo! It was so Charlotte and so beautiful and graceful. I was in tears watching her.
Charlotte will always hold a special place in my heart. She is the one that made me an aunt and I just love her with all my heart.
Saturday was an early morning with going to the team dance competition. Nate ended up staying home with McCall, Baylor, and Juliette and they went to some thrift stores while the rest of us went and watched the military and pom routines. The facial expressions kill me but it was so fun to watch and they did so good.
We had a couple of hours in between for a lunch break so we went home to chill and make some tacos for lunch before we all went back to watch the dance and hip hop routines.
We stayed for the awards and then my parents left so the rest of the night was just relaxing and spending time together. We hade dinner together and then celebrated Charlotte's birthday.
Sunday we got up early to drive back home so we could be home in time to watch the Seahawks win. They are going to the Superbowl! It was a wonderful, long weekend. I love these times that we have together as family and that it all worked out so we could support Charlotte.
