We are loving having Juliette live with us. There are lots of late night conversations in Paige's room as they "go to bed" and so much laughter, games, and creativity. The first week she was here, we had school to finish up, and it was a busy week and then we had girl's camp.
Now we are into July, and we had a fun first week of the month. Paige and Juliette decided to keep it pretty chill for the week since they were recovering from camp, but we did have a fun movie night with the young women and we got ready for the big 250th celebration for the 4th of July.
We did go on two fun outings for the week. The first was Big Air. All the girls had fun trying out all the things- climbing, jumping, zip lines, obstacles, and so much more.
Then another day, we made our way up to Seattle to go to the Woodland Park Zoo. We got rained on for a little bit, but it wasn't too bad. We saw so many animals and had some fun memorable experiences especially with the monkeys.
The highlight of the day was this orangutan. He was just sitting by himself and then grabbed his towel and put it over his head and walked straight over to us. We sat right on the other side of the glass from us and just looked at us. It was the best moment of the day!
Selfie with our new friend!
Then the gorillas are another fun one to watch but it ended up being the worst/funniest moment of the day. One of the gorillas was just sitting them and then he reached back and grabs his own poop right out of his bum. And then proceeds to eat it! At first, I tried not to think about it too much because he was pretty much eating it like an apple. Then it got to my head, and I started gagging and I couldn't stop! All the girls were laughing at me while tears are running down my face from gagging so much. :)
It was a great zoo day and we saw so many animals and got in SO many steps. We made a stop at the big Goodwill, and I stayed in the car with the two younger ones since they were sleeping and Nate went in this the teenagers. They loved browsing for clothes and wandering around the store together. They sure are two peas in a pod!
We are looking forward to even more adventures with Juliette though the time is already going by way too fast!
