Easter 2017

Holidays are so much fun with kids! Paige has so much excitement for everything that has to do with the holiday and Easter was no different. We enjoyed all the different parts of our fun Easter this year.

The first weekend of April, Mike and Christy and their family were up so we had a family Easter egg hunt. Every year I get to fill all the Easter eggs. I love doing it and organizing it all. Paige got to help this year too. I love my little helper.
The crew assembled for the hunt.
It was pretty rainy but it didn't hinder any of the kids from finding all their eggs.
 Looking at all their candy.
Then the Sunday before Easter was the perfect day for pictures. Margaret and Paige had gone a few days before and Paige got a beautiful pink Easter dress. These Easter pictures turned out so cute! Eliza also happened to have a cute pink dress on too and so we got double cuteness. Paige sure loves her little cousin.
Then Saturday we went and spent the afternoon with Margaret. Paige got to dye lots of eggs and that afternoon was a beautiful day so we spent some time outside soaking up the sun.
Happy Easter! Paige was so excited! In the morning she rushed into our room and said "I saw a blue Easter egg!" And then she was off. She got to find 10 Easter eggs and her Easter basket that the Easter bunny had hid for her. She loved every minute of it.
After church we had a nice Easter dinner with Margaret (Dale has been gone for the week to California) and then we took a drive to Flaming Geyser and enjoyed walking around there. It was a really nice and relaxing Easter and I loved every minute of the holiday fun.

Decoratove

Nate found a small aquarium that you raise aquasaurs at the thrift store. It was a kit with the eggs and you put the eggs in water and hope that these little dinosaur fish hatch. The first half of the eggs didn't work at all and so we put the second batch of eggs in and we got lucky. The first one we called lucky but he only got so big before he died and he wasn't lucky anymore. Then we got three to hatch- Ted, Steve, and Decoratove (the one that Paige named). Steve didn't last very long but Ted and Decoratove started to thrive. Decoratove did last the longest though and was a fun little pet to have for about three to four months. It was kind of cool to watch him swim around and he had hundreds of legs and it was cool to watch them all move when he would swim upside down. Paige loved this little dinosaur fish and he lived as long as expected maybe a little longer but soon the day came that Decoratove passed away.

We decided to have a little funeral service for him.
Paige made a coffin for him.
Then we went to Dale and Margaret's house to bury him in the forest.
She wasn't too sad about it but enjoyed doing the funeral service for him.
Her spelling of Decoratove and the coffin lid that we taped on.
Blowing him one last kiss before burying him.
 Sad but cute little face.
 Marking his headstone.
Goodbye Decoratove! Thanks for being such a fun pet.

Visitors from Idaho

Like I mentioned in my last post my parents came from Idaho for Paige's birthday. We enjoyed that day so much but here are some pictures of some of our other adventures.

The weather didn't cooperate very good for the time they were here. Lots of rain! Oh well we still had fun. The first day they arrived the sun came out for a bit so we went to Clark Lake and walked around to enjoy some nature.
Wednesday was the birthday and then Thursday morning we got up early and went to Seattle to go to a New Day Northwest. It is a local TV show that we got to be in the audience. All the segments were pretty entertaining and informative. It was a fun way to spend the morning.
Jackie Evancho even was on the show- she got second place on America's Got Talent when she was a lot younger but came on the show to give a performance.
Friday we went to the new Ikea. It was fun to walk around there on the super rainy day and my parents come a few things. Then Saturday my dad ran a half marathon at Dash Point on the Sound. It was a cold day but beautiful.

Watching the start.
We waited in the car for a bit and then went to explore the Sound. It was pretty cold especially with the wind off the water but it warmed up once the sun came out.
We knew about how long my dad would take and headed over to the finish line.
 Finishing the race!
Then Saturday evening the girls went to the General Women's Broadcast and then Sunday we had a relaxing day with church and enjoyed the Sabbath. Then Monday my parents came over and we visited for a couple of hours until we went to get Paige from preschool. We then got Nate from work and went to lunch before they headed back to Idaho. It was a great visit!
